Biblical Theology According To Me

What follows is a short course on Biblical Theology as I have used it in conjunction with the Introduction to Biblical Literature course.  Those who have already taken that course will find these slides a good review.  Those who have yet to participate will find them a decent preview.  We wanted to focus on the "Big Story" of the Bible, rather than all the little details.  The idea is to get the framework set and answer some questions like:  "What is God trying to do, overall, in the creation and history of the world?"  These sessions, outlined in the PowerPoints listed here, relate that big story in terms of a pageant with 8 acts.

Introduction:  The Bible as a Grand Story"
Act 1     "God Establishes His Kingdom: Creation"
Act 2     "Rebellion in the Kingdom: Fall"
Act 3     "The King Chooses Israel: Redemption Initiated"
Act 4     "A Kingdom Story Waiting for an Ending: Intertestamental Period"
Act 5     "The Coming of the King: Redemption Accomplished"
Act 6     "Spreading the News of the King: The Mission of the Church"
Act 7     "The Return of the King: Redemption Completed"
